⭐️About the role

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to take full ownership of AutoVex’s cloud infrastructure and help us scale a world-class car auction platform for two equally important user groups: consumers and companies who want to sell their cars effortlessly, and dealerships who want efficient, modern tools to source high volumes of quality cars.

Our platform is growing fast, and we need the right DevOps foundations to match it. You’ll make sure our AWS environment is stable, secure, and flexible, supporting faster delivery, confident releases, and smooth scaling across teams.

As our Sr. DevOps Engineer, you’ll own the infrastructure roadmap — strengthening automation, improving observability, and designing reliable, efficient delivery pipelines. You’ll be the key driver of our DevOps practices, from building environments and release processes to optimizing cloud costs and ensuring security. You’ll work closely with developers and business stakeholders to ensure our infrastructure evolves in step with the product — enabling rapid experimentation, safer deployments, and a stronger developer experience.

We’re looking for someone who’s hands-on, curious, and eager to build not just systems, but the DevOps culture and practices that will carry us forward. We’re a flexible team, but we also value face-to-face collaboration — so we’d love for you to spend some time at the office regularly (this isn’t a fully remote role).

💻 Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the architecture, reliability, and scalability of our AWS-based infrastructure.
  

• Maintain and optimize environments for performance, cost-efficiency, and security.
  

• Manage and extend our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) setup using Terraform.
  

• Oversee and improve CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines) to ensure seamless, reliable deployments.
  

• Design and manage testing and staging environments that closely mirror production.
  

• Implement and maintain observability, monitoring, and alerting systems.
  

• Collaborate with developers to automate testing, deployment, and release workflows.
  

• Drive infrastructure improvements through automation, documentation, and continuous learning.
  

• Champion DevOps best practices and foster a culture of shared responsibility across teams.

🎯Skills, knowledge, and expertise to succeed

• Strong experience with AWS services, including Kubernetes/EKS, EC2, IAM, and networking.
  

• Proficiency in Terraform and IaC workflows.
  

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Bitbucket Pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar is a plus).

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, etc.).
  

• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python).

• Proactive mindset and ability to thrive in a startup-like environment — comfortable wearing multiple hats and working independently.

• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
  

• Prior experience setting up or maintaining test automation infrastructure.
